Conforme iban avanzando, el equipo encargado de arreglar la estructura descubri\u00f3 \u00abuna total obra arquitect\u00f3nica basada en revoques blancos y dorados con toques, cl\u00e1sicos, neo cl\u00e1sicos y algo republicanos, escondida. La reconstrucci\u00f3n se hizo de tal manera que pudiera mantenerse la idea original, de una arquitectura ?temblorera? con una obra de mamposter\u00eda \u00fanica, y las magn\u00edficas obras de madera y basamento s\u00f3lido?, precis\u00f3 el arquitecto Laureano Forero, quien particip\u00f3 en la recuperaci\u00f3n de la obra. El jurado destac\u00f3 el respeto por las condiciones espaciales y constructivas originales de la estructura. Gubbio Am\u00e9rica Latina y el Caribe es un galard\u00f3n otorgado por la Asociaci\u00f3n Nacional de Centros Hist\u00f3ricos-Art\u00edsticos (ANCSA), creada en la ciudad italiana de Gubbio en 1960. El galard\u00f3n se entrega desde 1990 en Europa y desde el 2009 en Am\u00e9rica<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<h4>Pereira?s cathedral, Winner of an international award<\/h4>\n<p>Pereira?s \u00abOur Lady of Poverty? Cathedral obtained the Gubbio Award for Latin America and the Caribbean for its reconstruction process carried out after 1999?s earthquake. As they advanced, the reconstruction team discovered \u00aba hidden architectonic work based on white and golden plasters with classical, neo-classical and republican touches?. The reconstruction tried to keep alive the original idea of a \u00abtemblorera? architecture, with a unique masonry along with the magnificent wooden works and solid basement, as explained by architect Laureano Forero who participated in the process. The jury highlighted the respect for spatial and constructive original conditions. This award is granted by the National Association of Historic-Artistic Centers (ANCSA) created in the Italian city of Gubbio in 1960.
