No se puede desconocer, que gracias a su excelente posici\u00f3n geoestrat\u00e9gica, se ha convertido en el \u201cCentro del centro\u201d para una poblaci\u00f3n circundante de m\u00e1s de 2.5 millones de personas que representan un significativo aporte al PIB nacional. Por su moderna infraestructura se da el lujo de haberse convertido en ciudad de congresos y convenciones , y en poco tiempo entrar\u00e1 a las ligas del comercio mundial con la construcci\u00f3n del nuevo Word Trade Center o centro de negocios en zona aleda\u00f1a al Centro de Convenciones -Expofuturo, proyecto que incluye un moderno hotel de 100 habitaciones operado por el grupo GHL. La modernizaci\u00f3n del Aeropuerto Mateca\u00f1a, los avances del Bioparque Ukumar\u00ed como potenciador tur\u00edstico de la ciudad; la construcci\u00f3n del Cable A\u00e9reo; el arribo de nuevos inversionistas a trav\u00e9s de de numerosos Call Center y su innata vocaci\u00f3n comercial, hacen sin duda que esta sea una ciudad abierta al desarrollo. A prop\u00f3sito de esta ciudad cumplea\u00f1era, nos sentimos muy orgullosos de seguirle aportando a la promoci\u00f3n de sus encantos, como lo hemos hecho con el Paisaje Cultural Cafetero Colombiano a trav\u00e9s de nuestras p\u00e1ginas durante seis a\u00f1os consecutivos como los que celebramos este mes. Seis a\u00f1os que no han sido f\u00e1ciles por las bajas y altas que significa ser emprendedor; pero seis a\u00f1os que hemos vivido con una pasi\u00f3n desbordada por mostrar con orgullo lo mejor de lo nuestro ante el pa\u00eds y ante el mundo. Gracias, mil gracias amigos lectores por esperar con ansias nuestras coloridas p\u00e1ginas mes tras mes.<\/p>\n<p>FABIO CASTA\u00d1O MOLINA<br \/>\nDirector<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Pereira\u2019s anniversary<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Pereira celebrates its 154 this August, ratifying with its thriving commercial dynamism that it is one of the intermediate cities with the biggest growing potential consolidating itself as the main entrance point to the Coffee Landscape, mostly by air. \u201cCapital City of the Coffee Axis\u201d is the slogan used by the Mayor Juan Pablo Gayo who says he feels proud despite the controversy with the neighboring capital cities of Armenia and Quind\u00edo\u00a0 as they considerate this slogan doesn\u2019t contribute to regional integration. Nonetheless, the excellent geo-strategic position and extraordinary road network has made of the city the \u201ccenter of the Center\u201d for a population of over 2.5 million people who significantly contribute to the national GDP. Its modern infrastructure has given way to the celebration of multiple congresses and conventions and will soon enter big leagues with the construction of the new World Trade Center at Expofuturo Convention Center including a modern 100-room hotel operated by GHL International. The modernization of Mateca\u00f1a International Airport through a public-private alliance; the advances at Ukumar\u00ed Biopark as a touristic booster for the city; the construction of the aerial cable which will link to the mass transit system, the arrival of new investors through several call centers and its innate commercial vocation make of the city one open to development.\u00a0\u00a0 We cannot forget the main advantage is its population: warm, kind and helpful people as most citizens of the Colombian Cultural Coffee Landscape.<br \/>\nWe are proud of promoting the charms of this birthday girl, as we have done with all the municipalities that form up the Landscape for 6 consecutive years as we celebrate this month. Six years that haven\u2019t been an easy task due to the up and downs of being\u00a0 entrepreneurial, but years of living with a wild passion to show the best of our country to the world.
