Nuestro PCCC, tras cuatro años y medio de lograr la declaratoria de la Unesco como Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad, viene consolidando una oferta turística de alta calidad alrededor de la cultura cafetera y el turismo de naturaleza que tiene entre sus mayores atractivos el avistamiento de aves, el senderismo y otras con alto grado de adrenalina como el parapentismo, ciclomontañísmo y el torrentismo.
En el caso concreto del aviturismo, el reciente encuentro internacional llevado a cabo en Manizales, corroboró que la zona es potencia mundial en esta materia y que poco a poco los operadores con el apoyo de Procolombia y otras entidades públicas y privadas vienen tomando consciencia del asunto para el diseño de un producto que esté acorde a las altas exigencias del mercado mundial y de sus altos niveles de rentabilidad.
Colombia es considerado como el segundo país en el mundo con mayor biodiversidad en especies de aves con cerca de 1.900 tipos de pájaros debidamente censados, muchos de ellos endémicos. De la anterior cifra nuestro PCCC se da el lujo de contar con cerca de 450 especies en zonas estratégicas como las reservas ambientales de Río Blanco, los Alcázares, Brisas y Timanú en Caldas; Santuario de Flora y Fauna «Otún Quimbaya, Parque Nacional Natural Tatamá y Barbas Bremen en Risaralda.
La oportunidad está dada como nunca antes para que propios y extraños disfrutemos al máximo durante esta temporada del encanto que ofrece la región con toda su biodiversidad y con las tradiciones vinculadas a nuestra rica cultura cafetera que giran no solo en torno a producir y degustar el café más suave del mundo sino también a nuestra gran riqueza patrimonial y gastronómica. New year?s eve at the cultural Coffee landscape
The tranquility experienced by our country these last days thanks to the notorious advances on the Peace Process between government and FARC in Habana (Cuba) will surely strengthen the influx of international tourists to our principal leisure destinations at both the Caribbean Beaches and the Colombian Cultural Coffee Landscape.
Our Landscape has been consolidating a high quality touristic offer all around a coffee growing culture and nature-tourism including bird watching, trekking, skydiving, mountain biking and canyoning. All of this since its inclusion in the list of Cultural Heritage of Mankind sites,
The specific case of bird tourism must be highlighted as Manizales just held an international meeting, confirming the zone as world power in the category. Several operators, helped by Procolombia, as well as public and private institutions have been taking conscience to design a product in accordance to the great exigencies of the world market.
